Skills Competition

Both tournaments feature a skills competition for 9U and 10U teams

Each team will divide their players up in order to field at least three teams (In order to not leave any of the players out, any extra players are able to create a second team to do the base running drill)  The 3 competitions they will be competing in are "base running", "around the horn", and "home run derby".

- Base running: 4 players will all start at home plate.  One player will than run from home all the way around the base path once the timer starts.  Once that player touches home plate after running around the bases, the next player will than do the same.  This will go on until all 4 players have run and recorded their final time.

- Around the Horn: 4 players will each take the field on a separate base.  Once the timer starts, the person on home will throw it to first base.  That player will than throw it to second, who throws it to third, who throws it back to the catcher where it started.  The catcher will than throw the ball in reverse direction to third, who will throw it back to second, back to first, and finally back to the catcher where the time will be recorded. All catches must touch their bag. If ball is dropped/overthrown, retrieve, touch base and continue. 

- Home run Derby: 2 Players from each team will each get 6 pitches/5 swings (Whichever comes first) from a pitcher of their choice.  Each team will have 1 "Home Run Ball" that they can pitch at any point.  If the batter hits a home run on that ball, it is counted as 2 home runs.
